Air parking brakes won't release. [SOLVED]

Hey y'all. This is on a 2009 International.

Went to move the bus today and I can't get the air brakes to release. It doesn't seem like they are stuck or rusted; rather that the release button/knob thing is broken, or something is not allowing it to be released. I push it and it has no resistance and doesn't stay in.

The compressor fills everything up just fine, and there is no leak in the system. Last drove about a week ago, so they shouldn't be stuck or anything.

Now, I'm in the tear-down stage, so I had my wiring harness disconnected to facilitate ceiling panel removal. I thought maybe some safety thing was interfering with it, like, it can't prove the emergency exits are closed so it won't disengage. But I clicked everything back together and still nothing.

Has anyone had any issue with this before? I saw a bunch of posts about stuck air brakes, but none of the symptoms matched. Going to try calling the district tomorrow to see if they can help out.

Wait, no, tomorrow is Saturday. Help me Skoolie-Wan Kenobi you're my only hope!

How long did you let the bus run? It can take a few minutes to build up enough air pressure to release the brakes.

Welp, never mind. It was the chair lift interlock, missed that one when I was plugging everything back together. Guess I need to cozy up with a beer and read my operators manual, could have saved myself some time and frustration. I guess that's the lesson here...

Anyway, all good now!

Hey EastCoast, thanks for the quick reply! I had it idling for a bit, looks like I missed a step reconnecting everything. Thanks!

Leave it here for posterity! Or, more to the point, for someone to find years from now with the exact same problem!
