I reached out to Charlie online, stated he can now do the 3000pts in addition to the md3060s. Glad to hear at least one person has been through it, I'm a little leary of going through someone who no one has used before.

Good to know about pcm now doing reflashes again instead of requiring a new tcm purchase.

Has anyone heard any update from several pages back about babos "Allison master" - assuming maybe this is the retired person who no longer has access that I've read about elsewhere?

My Allison 3000PTS TCM reflash from Charlie Ball went fantastic and my bus runs great... best $400 I've spent on this bus so far
DT466e 7.6L 245hp. 1700RPM @ 55mph; 1900RPM @ 65mph and 2100RPM @ 75mph (empty non-converted bus).

Gear is there from the get go. The correct valve body occurred in 2005 iirc

When driving my bus, I've only counted 4 gear changes. My bus is titled as an '05...which means the engine and tranny could be a bit older.
I just came from the shop that's working on my bus and asked them about 6th gear...they said the 2000 series had a 6th gear in "later" models but we couldn't find what "Later" meant, although at that moment, we didn't have time to do a thorough web search.

06+ as in YEAR 06+ not MODEL YEAR... 4th gen TCMs are the ones to look for on the 2000 series.. (has one single 8- pin connector instead of 2 connectors..

thanks, guess I missed that bus! (Since mine is a 2005)
edit:
ok CK, just re-read what you said. Year 06+
Does that mean the 6th year of the 2000 tranny production?

in 2006 they started producing them all with 4th gen TCMs and the full 6th gear valve bodies.. typically school busses are built way ahead.. so a bus with model year 2006 may actually have a chassis built in early 05 or late 04. with the allison 6 speeds, it seems like from what I could tell the 1000 series used in the duramaxx trucks got 6th gears first and then the 2000 series followed shortly after..

for instance my buddy who runs a school bus company ordered several IC busses last year.. he receiced the busses this past december.. december of 22 and the busses are model year 24! so over a full year ahead of the actual year 24...
