Allison at525 transmission

Found a bus around me that has 5.9 cummins and what he says is a at525 transmission. I can't find much of anything about this trans. Just Trying to make sure he's not confusing it with a545. He Said he topped out at 60. The bus is a 94.

Allison does/did make a T525 Torquematic and there are some in buses so I would definitely want to get confirmation as to what is actually in that puppy.

Do you know any good or bad info on the transmission? I've found a pdf file on the transmission saying up to 500 hp or so. I've just not been able to find any other info on the trans.

Don't know squat about that one...sorry. But I do believe they were mostly in transit buses (?).

PS...from what I could find in a quick search, the T525 appears to be part of the Gen 5 (newest) series of heavy duty trannies. That said...I am guessing that whoever quoted you that designation more than likely meant "AT545" which is far more common in skoolies and hardly the most desirable Allison product.

Let us know what you discover. Best of luck.

I will certainly get back to what I found out. The bus is a 1994 ford carpenter so I immediately thought 545 as well. I'm waiting on the sellers reply at the moment

Owner had the numbers mixed up. It was indeed an at545
