I'll have to look it up. There's three separate manuals and they aren't the easiest things to navigate through. That and the fact that they are 30 years old makes them kind of fragile too so you have to be careful flipping through them.

Would you know if it is mechanical or electrical? Reason I ask is I'm trying to put a tach in mine. I have an electric one but I believe it is for a gasser because it doesn't work with the sensor on the flywheel. I have a mechanical tach as well and I can't figure out what I would route the cable to(injection pump, timing cover, etc.)

Booyah, sorry took so long to get back. My speedo and tach are both mechanical.

I also located an interested fuel leak. It's the return line that hugs the side of the block coming from the IP. It goes into a 90, follows the block a foot then turns to hard line, continues to rear of engine where it hits a T to the injectors, then rubber hose to the tank. The rubber was leaking under the clamp holding it to the block.

The interesting part is, the fitting where it goes from rubber to metal hardline has a small orifice, rather than a hardline-sized opening! We took it to NAPA, they looked very confused and wished us luck. Why the small orifice?? To intentionally cause backpressure on the IP? Anyone got a part# for this piece of hose?? Thanks in advance!!

Yes, a lot of them use a fixed orifice in the return line in order to create lift pump pressure in the injection pump. The pressure in the pump is pretty important to filling the plungers full of fuel after the delivery valve closes. You'll have to get that hose from International.

Makes perfect sense, I guess I expected a regulator or orifice in the IP to handle that rather than in a hose... Got a part# in your magic shop manual by chance?

Heh, guess what, I just now got the # from international, which I shall post here in case some other googler comes across this: 1806503C1 is the fuel return hose with the tiny orifice on one end. They want $80 for this footlong piece of hose. o__o
