cadillac a question about signal processing

I have a signal source - the speed sensor from the rear differential, 2005 ford f450,

That signal, I would like to send to three places, cruise control, speedometer, and anti lock braking unit.

with out knowing more details, do you think, it is reasonable to have three wires from the sensor and use the signal for each?

I am concerned that feeding the signal like that will affect the signal in such a way it will not be usable.

My second alternative is to split the signal two ways, one into the engine/instrument processor and the output of that processor drive and controls the speedometer and cruise, the other would be input for the abs system.

I am asking for you opinion.

the engine/instrument processor is 1995 dodge and is part of the engine system, the entire cruise actuator system is also from the 1995 dodge, and the abs unit is 2005 ford and is part of the chassis.

regards, william

there is a box for that.. it is made by dakota digital.. you can set it up to modify the signal for what you need and also split it if you need to.

im using one in my bus and it seems to work well.

I found it by accident when looking for an interface for some build I was doing a few years back.. be sure to check dakota digital website for the latest version of it.. there are a couple.. amazon doesnt always have the latest revisions.. that link I posted is where I bought one about a year and a half ago. but dakota updates their devices every few years.. theres lots of other goodies they make for gauges / custom builds.

It may be set up like my 2004 F53 based motorhome. The ABS unit reads the 4 (or 3 on earlier F53s) wheel speed sensors, then sends a speed signal to the ECM, speedometer, and Cruise module. You may just be able to tap into the signal at the ABS module. Do you have the E450 wiring diagrams?
