Emergency Help Needed

Hey guys, just joined the community. Can't believe it took me this long. I'll cut to the chase.

Here's the issue: My dad owns a 1997 Chevy Bluebird Mini Bus w/ the 6.5 L diesel. He has had it in shop for the last week because it will crank right up but then it will begin to stall as if not getting fuel to the engine. The issue has built over time, at first he stalled once going over a bridge and it was fine after but now it's stalling more frequently.

Fuel pump has just been replaced, fuel tank has been emptied and refilled, and fuel line has been replaced. This is an emergency because we are the staple of our tailgate and first game is tomorrow night. Diesel mechanic is at wits end too. Apparently, I'm the only one whose heard of this little thing called the internet. Please help save the day and give any insight you can provide. I'm dealing with this issue through my dad so please forgive the time it takes for me to filter your questions through him if need be.

Thank you thank you thank you

Re: Emergency Help Needed

Heres a text my dad sent explaining it in more detail.
I drove it wed and seemed fine but I noticed it lost power a couple of times-not cutting off but rpm decrease. Got in back in hood snd stopped to talk. At low rpm, it choked. Bled valve and srove to house. Next day I drove to iop and it died at low rpm. Bled it and limped to golf tourney. Drove home from shrimp n beer-got to iop bridge and it started losing power. Slowed it dowm and gotn to mt p connecter. It died and would not crank-batteries died so had it towed

Re: Emergency Help Needed

X2 on fuel filter not just the big main one!

Almost all newer ones have a second filter at the engine one about size of small jelly jar

Re: Emergency Help Needed

I knew there was something on 6.5's that need to be relocated-I typed "6.5 relocate" and got 1000's of hits about stalling. Heres one of them.

Re: Emergency Help Needed

thanks to everyone for all of the input. unfortunately we weren't able to get it tailgate yesterday but I suspect the relocation could be would I need to do because it starts great and then stalls after running awhile which leads me to think it could be heat related w/ that component. I will update everyone once it is pinpointed and fixed. Thanks again and I look forward to getting involved in the community.
