Flat nose Bus Specs-- Need advice

Hi I have found a flat-nosed international bus that is the length I am looking for (30 ft) and it is listed as having a International engine (DT466E) and 3000 New World Automatic transmission.

Is this a good engine/transmission combo?

Thanks!

The DT466 is one of the best engines ever, It should move that bus nicely; I believe it's a 7.5 or 7.6 Liter. The "E" at the end is Electronic, I'm a big diesel fan, and I prefer a Mechanical injection system over electronic, but their injection system is a proven winner.. sorry, I know nothing of that trans.

Is it a MD3060? Or otherwise one of the Allison World Series? Does it have an electronic shift panel with up and down buttons? If so its one of the best auto transmissions you could hope for

I already have a bus, though so if anyone else is thinking of pullin the trigger- go for it. Just one of the many buses I've put in low bids on!

FWIW, I have put no bids in... yet.

Good luck on finding your next bus

Not sure, that's all the description states. I'm going to put a bid and hope for the best.

I was gonna buy it, drive it home, paint it and rip the seats out and ask $6500.
If you want it, you'll have to bid more than 2 grand, I think.

I was looking at these as well. Do you think they would be a good bus to buy?

No, man.
I conceded it to another forum member- YOU, on the previous page.
Are YOU the proud new owner of a bus?
I stopped bidding around $1400 when you said you were going to bid.

That's nice of you, but you really didn't have to do that! I stopped bidding around $3500. It was just me and one other bidder. I'm not sure what their max was set at. I tried entering a few increments of $10 to see if it was right around that range, but considering the travel costs to pick up, registration, insurance, possibly new tires before I could bring it home, more than 3500 ish was higher than I was willing to pay. So..... someone else is the proud new owner of a bus! Darn it!

Back to the drawing board.

You were wise to pass it up for that price.
I've already got a couple more I'm eyeing for investment. If someone's gonna middle-man, it may as well be me.
