Re: Flexible exhaust hose for generator

Not sure what kind of bends you need to make...but here goes!

I think I would go with hard copper lines and use fittings as needed to make the exhaust. Where the spark arrestor screen bolts down with the silver plate, I would use a compression joint ring between the plate and muffler for the connection. Set up the piping for best use, and with an eye for easy removal.

Got any pix of your generator drawer set-up?

Re: Flexible exhaust hose for generator

try Detroit Flexible Metal Products in troy mi, they have all kinds of neat plumbing, they may also use Auto Cycle Marine on the web.
they have corrigated stainless tubing and also Marmon flanges and clamps, they can also make up any adapters that you may need.

we also used to get 2 1/2'' ss exhaust flexpipe from NAPA, I'd bet that they can order any diameter that you want.

be prepaired for sticker shock if you call DFMP or ACM

Depending on how the exhaust comes out of the genny, can you make an exhaust pipe that is perma-mounted in the wall, and the pipe in the genny just slides into it? Maybe use a hose clamp to tighten it down?

Saw some inexpensive flex stainless LP gas lines today at Tractor Supply...not sure if they are lined, or what with.

Quickie pix posting tutorial:

Select an online picture host. I use http://www.imageshack.us , it is free
Set up an account there.
Upload your pictures there. You should also be able to adjust the picture size while it is being uploaded. I like 640X480 on boards, keeps the pix within a single screen. When you are done uploading get the URL for the picture and copy it.

Click on the reply or new thread box here at Skoolies. Click on the "IMG" button.
This will appear in your reply box

""

Paste your image URL between the brackets

"

Be sure to move the cursor out from between the brackets before typing additional text.

I would LOVE to see your mods and engineering!
