Front window trim

Hi,

While pulling up the plywood in the drivers foot-well, I found a lot more moisture then I thought should be there. It was a bit slick, so I suspect that the heater valve is leaking.

But looking at where else water might be coming from, I noticed that the corner brackets are looking somewhat rusted. It seems to be just surface rust, I suspect it was never painted and condensation on it would cause the rust.

Looking from the outside I noticed a fairly substantial gap in the window trim. Should I be worried about this. Or is there more trim behind it, and this just works as a drain hole?

It had that under "My bus" but that apparently does not show up. Moved it to "Coachwork".

It's a 2005 International CE200

Looks like a drain hole from what I see in your pics. But any hole out could possibly let water in. Does the corner smell sweet? That would indicate coolant as opposed to just water.
