I picked up two transmissions. I also picked up a PTO winch and the PTO that came with it. I will try to post pictures by this weekend.

That's cool! Looks to be identical to a standard at545(maybe beefier, I can't really tell). Looks brand new too, so I'd say you lucked out if you got it for a good price.

Not new, rebuilt. Looks like trans fluid in the bottom of the crate not motor oil like I have been reading about on Steel Soldiers. I don't think it is any beefier than an AT 545. The only reason I wanted it was because it would be an easier swap then a MT643. Take one out, pop the other in. I figure if I take care of it from gitgo, it should last me a long time and I will have a lockup TC. I hope this lowers the RPMs 2-300 immediately.

I would love to put an 8.3 Cummins in my bus. I just bid on some Bluebirds with 8.3 engine, 5 speed manuals and 2 speed rearends. They all sold for over $4000 with rusty bodies so obviously I wasn't a player.

One of the issues I have is lack serious fabrications skills, indoor space to work and time to work on stuff. Putting food on the table is a priority right now. I will lean towards an easy swap over a major swap right now like this AT1545 swap.

Hey man I was just linking more army surplus usage.

Any transmission swap is better than none.
