Life of an Engine
We are about to buy a bus conversion and our main concern is the engine/transmission.
What is the usual life of a diesel engine (assuming it has been cared for)?

Choice one: 1992 Thomas Bus 5.9 diesel Allison transmission 188K miles

Choice two: 1990 Motor Coach diesel (engine size and transmission type unknown by seller, who is a recent widow) 70K miles on a rebuilt

I tried to search the board for number of miles a diesel engine can go, but only found MPG discussion.
