The bus is converted enough for me(no bathroom, no sink, no shower, no fridge, just a place to crash). Where we "camp" has all the necessary amenities that we would need, that and we're usually never far from home. Swapping my current interior to another bus wouldn't take much time(2 days maybe, if the new one has no seats)

I'd agree with you normally, but I've already driven it that fast when we were bringing it home. Matter of fact, it topped out at 70-75 going slightly down hill but I could tell the engine was cutting fuel. You wanna talk about deafening? That trip was deafening. Rusted out muffler, coupled with rusted out steps, and add in an idi screaming along at redline and you can about imagine. We ended up throwing all the couch cushions and pillows in the stepwell just to make it tolerable.

I've got a Crown with a 270 Detroit and 10-speed Eaton. At 2300 rpm it'll do around 55 mph. I can get about 2600 rpm out of the engine, but I'm told the Detroit's shouldn't be spun more than about 2300. I'd like more speed (70-75 would be plenty). Would I be better off changing the rear gear or getting a 13-speed?

Thanks.

Rear end would be cheaper, and if you go for a 13 speed, remember that they come with or without overdrive in 13th gear
