The low profile. I don't like it. I like more tire.
If going from a 40" tire to a 35" tire I guess you may as well gear it really high.
Go for 3.50-ish.

dana/spicer s110 gears

I bought 3.73 gears for this rear last week. I could not find 3.90 gear set for the s110. The best I could find is 4.11 rear gears/ differential.

I paid about $900 for center section with the gears I was looking for. This center section might even have a tone ring for speed sensor.

yeah I saw that the 3.90 is very rare.. looks like the 3.73 and 4.11 are the most common.. I need the tone ring too.. where did you get it? vanderhaags or TPI or such?

cadillac --

I found one 3.90 in florida, dont remember where. There was a medium duty truck called a terrastar, only made for about five or six years. That is were I found my 3.73. The picture showed a speed sensor in the housing, I read that you could not get a speed sensor below a 4.10 I do not believe that now. However! I also have not uncrated the differential yet either. I would tell you to spend some time - couple of hours. looking at florida truck salvage yards. If I found it, you could too. I do not know what the 3.90 came out of. Most s110 axles are out of ford f450 and f550 trucks and ford rv chassis. fords usually have 4,88 some with 4,30 rv 5,13 and 5,38

Spicer rates the s110 for 14,000 ( i think) and ford de rates it for the trucks.

hope this helps
