School Bus sales to the Public just "might soon be a thing of the past" with the new EPA regs: FY 2017 DERA State Clean Diesel Grant Program Overview
March 15, 2017

• Vehicles and engines that are replaced must be
scrapped to ensure emission reductions
– See pg. 19 of the Program Guide for the exception to this rule for specific Tier 3
nonroad vehicles/engines/equipment
• Cut 3”x3” hole in engine block to disable engine for
vehicle and engine replacements
• Cut chassis rails in half to disable chassis for vehicle
replacements
• Be sure to obtain evidence of appropriate disposal
including photos of the following:
– Engine tag showing serial number, engine family number, and
engine model year;
– Destroyed engine block; and
– Cut frame rails.

All i can say is wow. Funny how vehicles are demonized. When you consider the fact that factory farms produce more greenhouse gases than all the vehicles

Does the EPA consider the added emissions from processessing materials for building a new vehicle. Also might these newer used buses replace some of the evil polluting pre emmission mechanical engines.

I had a friend that started a oil rig chopper service business with surplus S-58 Helicopters back in the 60's. He purchased 19 choppers at the navy base in Memphis. The demilled his by chopping off the landing gear. Lazarov salvage also purchased some and they were demilled by chopping off the rotors. Harry Doan purchased those from Lazrov and you can see the res. GREAT IDEA!
