T444E need some care

These engines are a very good engine but do require some occasional new parts. The first item to need replaced are the small return hoses and usually the plastic caps. Some times the fuel filter will become restrictive. Most folks replace the filters, oil, add some Power Service and advance the fuel setting. The milage will dictate when most of the repair is needed. My 1990 Blue Bird has the same engine and an Allison. Aside from low power, I love this bus. Frank

T444E

Go to your bus and look at engine. Try to track the fuel system. Try to identify all the engine components. The fuel system begins at the fuel tank, sometimes there is a in line fuel filter, goes to fuel pump, then to injector pump. Out of the injector pump to each cylinder injector. Excess fuel at each injector is routed to some small hose and returned to the fuel tank. Frank
