Trailer hitches...
I dunno if this is the right place or not but what kind of trailer hitch will fit a '99 RE Blue Bird?
Unit Dashboard | Portal
I'm driving out Monday morning to pick it up. If I can use the bus to tow my car back then the gf doesn't have to drive it back. And I'm likely going to want a trailer hitch years down the road anyway. The car is TDI wagon (32xx lbs)

have her drive the car back.
you can stop at most any welding shop and they can hook you up with a hitch. that will set you back more than the fuel in the TDI.
is a TDI a volkswagon? i dont think they recommend towing any VW 4 down, so you need a car trailer or dolly too.
towing it back gets real expensive

Yeah, it is. Haven't looked at the manual for that. I can weld it myself but thought there might be a bolt on.

If you can get the measurements of were it would mount you could give Curt MFG a call. They can look up hitches by size. Thats what I did for mine. Forget what the hitch was supposed to be for but it bolted on fine, I did have to drill a couple holes but simple install. I also towed a VW TDI wagon

It took 12 hrs but we made it back alive. Now I can worry about a real hitch and trailing in another 2 yrs.

When you go get a bus, one advantage of having a gf, wife or friend drive the car back is that they can ride shotgun, which tends to keep both LEOs and idiots off your tail.
You also have transport should the bus "fail to proceed".

You can tow a VW 4 down if it is a manual trans, doing that with their auto will destroy it

I considered putting on a hitch on what ever bus I get, no intentions of towing a vehicle, but you never know when you may have to.I'll weld up my own hitch. Made a custom hidden hitch on my Dakota, total cost was $27. Figured I'd go ahead and research a tow bar for the truck in case I ended up driving to purchase a bus and towing the truck home. Was not surprised to see trailer hitches in the $125 range, surprised me to see all the tow bars were better than $400, ouch
