Re: We finally picked up our skoolie

You are gonna learn a lot about your ride. Diesel engines need just 3 things to run. They are a good charged battery, clean air and fuel. Try some start fluid..... Frank

Re: We finally picked up our skoolie

details please, type of engine, tranny etc, full size?
hope you get it running with out to much $$$$ , dont get bummed out, its best to find out problems now before you hit the road on a long trip. hopefully its just a clogged fuel filter, something simple.

best of luck

Re: We finally picked up our skoolie

Is there any model designation on the side of the hood? If you post a picture of the engine, I'm sure someone here can identify it. Cheers

Re: We finally picked up our skoolie

Actually, your engine could be a 7.3L or a 9.0L . Seems as though International started using the 7.3L in '86, and at the same time they continued to use the 9.0L into the '87 model years. Here is a brief history of IH engines in school buses.
