a pedal to the floor on a diesel is going to allow for more fuel to go into the cylnder.. since the air isnt regulated by the pedal, the fuel is completely, so floored pedal will allow for larger shots.. seems like it might help clear air out of the lines quicker..

This may sound like a dumb question but a lot of the Ford vehicles with the 6.9/7.3L diesel engines had a manual pump on the fuel filter that helped with priming--does your Ford have the hand pump on the fuel filter?


As far as priming and not starting because it is cold, if you loosen (crack open) one of the injector lines and fuel comes out while cranking then you are primed enough to get started.

No, it just has a tiny little valve that looks like the pump valve on a basketball.
