Second Tire rotation

Second tire rotation on the corolla completed.
No wheel studs broken this time

While inspecting the front pads, I noticed the caliper piston had some wear on the rubber part? I would prefer not have to replace the whole caliper, but I'm worry that it might start leaking once I compress it while installing new pads.
Is this common wear or a signal that it might leak soon

The rubber on the calipers is very often torn.
I'd just roll with it.
Or try your hand at replacing the caliper and bleeding the brakes.

I've seen some videos online on how to bleed the calipers, it didn't seem too complicated. But you know, usually one little problem becomes a complete mess.

You are finding all kinds of things-it's good. Easier to fix at your convenience instead of roadside.

That rubber thing is a boot to keep the spludge out. The actual seal is an o-ring inside. A torn boot means water and dirt are getting in there so you will get rust. And probably a stuck caliper sooner rather than later. Rebuild or replace- always in sets on an axle.

So . . . After front brake job.
When I drive the car it feels different, like something rubbing, small vibration on the car over all. Steering feels fine though.
Also after a small drive, I noticed little pieces of the brake pad on the floor after I parked.
Hmm . . .

Go out and drive it like you stole' it. flying down side streets, power slides like Streets of San Francisco-Bullit.

It may just be you are now hyper-aware of a vehicle that you didn't give 2 hoots about previously.

Why haven't you found a bus yet? I know it's tough with small ones, but they will thank you for the future travel adventures.

Are you limited by space? HOA? Even a shortie ?

We gotta get you started. Tell us what you need.

My parents: the Ocala house in North Florida should be fine. I'm worry about our house in Miami, so we are going to stay down there.
My neighbor's parents: I have a house in Puerto Rico, so im flying there to make sure everything is fine.

Who understands patents ...

Pick bed linner

I figured I ask here from my skoolie friends:

Anyone know of a type of 'paint like product' to protect the bed of a pick up truck.

Or any cheap DIY options to protect the metal when carrying stuff.

Long time, no see!

Rhino liners and spray bed liners are common.

spray-in is typically expensive.. just drop a plastic liner in and be done with it... cheap and easy
