Question 8.2L Detroit turbo fule supply issues. help!!!?

I have an 86 Detroit 8.2l turbo that acquired a bad water and algae problem after getting some bad fuel then sitting. i first killed the fungus in my tank. i have drained the bad fuel changed my fuel filter put clean fuel in and added a cleaner to my new tank. started the thing up and ran it hard for about 5 min before it cleared up real nice. she ran for another 5 min before it started acting like it was governing out then bogging down then dies...
will the settlement in my tank from the algae plug my fuel filter
that fast?

Yes. Injection pumps are super precise and hate water. Filters are measured in microns.

I'd flush my lines an replace the filters- might be more than 1. Charge the batteries as you will have to re-prime the system. Try to use manual primer.

Do not roast your starter- isn't like a car- much harder to turn a diesel. 15 seconds, then 2 minutes cooling.

Hello. I have an 8.2L Detroit and have had a few different fuel experiences of my own.

Regarding your particular situation, how did you perform your diagnosis to arrive at the conclusion that water and algae are the root of the issue?
