detroit diesel 8.2l starting in cold wether

so i am here in one of the polar vortex in the center usa. trying to start my 1980 detroit diesel 8.2l it dose not seem to have any glow plugs or grid heaters do you have any ways to pre warm the air or the motor for starting it i have a block heater pluged in but still not enouf. was thinking of getting a bat warmer and oil pan heater, was also thinking of getting one of those propaine torpetos to heat it but i dont know if it would be safe

The block heater should be plenty sufficient, I bet it doesnt work. A torpedo heater is perfect....with a little common sense. Skip the battery warmer and pan heater.

Before next winter, a Kats bottle heater would be the ticket for you.
