9.0 liter or 6.9 liter

So I'm having problems with my 9.0 liter engine, it may have a hole in the piston, not sure yet. But if so, I can get a decent deal on a 6.9 liter. I'm wondering who has experience with either engines. Would it be a good swap or should I just rebuild the 9.0 liter engine? Which engine is better the 9.0 or the 6.9?

Do a compression test and find the low cylinder. After the compression test, determine if engine needs a valve job. Remove the oil pan and replace the piston and rings. If all the numbers are bad, build or buy an exchange. Frank

9L is a great engine. Find another if you have to, dont go with the 6.9.

lol Yes!! Rebuild that good ole' 9.0L, I wouldn't get that 6.9L unless you ran out of options. lol I have one, it has little power, and it gets horrible fuel mileage, but it's reliable. lol
