Advice/Insights needed - replacing air compressor

Hi people

I have a 1998 International 3800 with the t444e (7.3 Navistar).

I have to replace the air compressor, which is a Bendix Tu-Flo 550.

It seems pretty straightforward, but because I've not done this before I thought I would toss it out to those of you with more experience and technical knowhow so that I don't overlook anything.

Other than the air connections it looks like it has 2 connections for coolant to the head and 2 connections for oil (transmission fluid?) to the crankshaft. I plan to plug these with something (any suggestions?) while I work on it.

The pully seems to be held on by a nut, so that should be easy enough, right?

I will need to buy or borrow a socket for the 4 bolts holding the compressor to the plate under it. Can anyone tell me what this type of head is called? (see picture)

Finally, what gaskets might I need? It seems to me that the only one is at the air intake since this is a belt-driven unit.

I really appreciate any help.

You just need a 12 point socket for that capscrew.

I replaced the seals on my Air compressor. I am not sure why I did it - I think they were leaking a little.
There is a seal kit.

I ordered that - and a friend pulled the thing apart and changed them.
I wish I could remember the bits he used - because I know I didn't have the one he needed.

We used locking vise grips to stop the coolant lines.

If you stop by any diesel mechanic - or truck stop - they should be able and willing to show you what you would need to do it. I have had a lot of luck with that.
