Dimmer switch meltdown!

Hey there.can anyone shed some light as to why the wires leading to my foot operated dimmer switch are almost meltdown hot?!! .just replaced the switch.has led running lights.looking for maybe a loose ground curently.any ideas?

Ok, why did you replace the original switch?
Did you use the same old rusty mounting holes for the new one?
If so, then sounds like the rusty floor might not be grounded well to the rest of the body or frame.
Trace the wires to the switch out as they may be grounding out somewhere themselves. Same with the wires to the headlice.
