The engine starts hard because the rail is empty and must re pressurize before the other injectors can send fuel in..
time to pull the injectors , replace the o rings and get the injectors tested by a shop to see if any are bad.. and of course change the oil after you put it back together before running it.
This make a log of sense to me. What is the risk of leaving the diluted oil in there until i get around to the injector job?

Your bottom end won't appreciate the diluted oil if you're running the engine.
I wouldn't mess around with it any more till its fixed.

If you mean just leaving it in without running the engine then it’ll be fine. Don’t start or turn the motor over and you won’t cause any problems. Change the oil once the job’s done.

Any recommended place to get the injectors tested?
My local international dealer quoted me 55 each.

Found a place online to rebuild for 100 each, would that be a better route to go. Seems like they have good reviews.

I personally prefer dealing with local shops. Many big cities have diesel injector rebuilders, or diesel parts places, that can give you a competitive price on fresh injectors and you don't have to wait on mail order.

Those injectors are about half the price of mine (I have a T444E engine) which run about 200 each, and I have 8.

I replaced mine with alliant performance injectors (stage 1 ) and they are brand new .. they were i think 275-300. a piece.. I have 8..
I should say I bought them. a year ago and havent had a chance to install them yet..

The risk, a seriously blown up motor when you spin all the bearings that are no longer lubricated with the proper oil viscosity.

Thanks Marc

I am firmly against a blown up motor.

The answer may be the same, but let me try to clarify
I plan to pull and test/fix the injectors as soon as i get a chance
I don't plan to start the engine until this is complete.
Original plan was to change the oil immediately after

Do this bearings actually set in the oil when the engine is at rest (total noob question).
If not, would i actually have to run the engine to get the proper viscosity oil back on them. In the process and with my injector issue, actually contaminating the new oil with diesel?

Thanks,
dave

I've dumped injector fuel in the cylinders and started it for testing never had a problem not a good to run it without an oil change but just testing I've never seen any issues hell I'll put some fuel in the oil to flush it right before an oil change but that's just me
