Interesting find on eBay, $89 dash cluster repair.

I'd be interested in learning how to do it myself, as I've got an intermittent glitch. I looked at the ebay seller you linked to but some of the feedback is a bit iffy. If I could do it with a soldering iron in an afternoon I'd be much happier than sending it away and wondering if the work was done right.

Based on your responses in other threads, I'd be very surprised if you couldn't figure it out.

Without knowing much about these gauge panels specifically, it seems to me that the most likely cause of the intermittent issues they claim to fix is compromised wiring, loose connections, corrosion... stuff you can probably just look at and say "yep, there's the problem".

Come to think of it, this sounds like one heck of a great side hustle. If we charged $88 and spelled "repaired" correctly, we could corner the market.

I'm pretty sure there are videos of this repair on Youtube, but I've not looked too deeply into it. I think it's a wiring harness issue maybe? Just going by memory of previous posts on the topic. Knowing me, I'll wait until the "intermittent" turns into "permanent". I'm still a little gun shy about troubleshooting electronics after my failed/aborted attempt at figuring out why the water heater doesn't work on propane, only electric.
