Looking for bus near South Dakota

Hello,

I think I finally have my wife convinced that building a schoolie is a good idea so now I can find a bus! I haven't found anything locally that would meet my requirements so I thought I'd ask the community. I'm looking for a conventional 60 to 66 ish passenger (10 or 11 row). For drivetrain I would like a dt466 mechanical injection with a manual overdrive transmission or a dt466e with a-2000 or MD 3060. I'd like to stay pre 2004 or 05? to avoid EGR.

I did find a 99 Thomas 65 pass with dt466e, 7 speed manual and 160,000 miles in Colorado. May be priced a little high at 7500? I might be able to negotiate down a little. What do you think?

Thanks

Ted

Man you JUST missed some really supreme conventional buses in Colorado on Public Surplus. 250hp mechanical DT's with retarders, high headroom, air ride, and highway gears. They went for $4500 or so at auction. I had to bow out around 3 grand but man did I ever want on of those!

One of those would have been sweet and in my price range!

I ment to start this thread in the new members area. I reposted it there but not sure how to delete this thread.
I guess it's kind of related to Navistar drivetrains.

Doesn't matter where you put it, this is fine.
I'd keep an eye on Colorado, Idaho, Utah and that general region on Govdeals and Public Surplus.
