Stairwell heater

2000 AmTran genesis fe dt466. The stairwell heater (Apears to be radiator fluid fed) is now stuck on when the engine is running. The steal plate that covers it gets too hot to touch even after just a 20 minute drive. The hot/cold lever makes no difference. If never used to do this and it’s cooking us out in FL after we’ve driven. The engine had been off two hours now and it’s cooler than it was but still very very warm. Thoughts?

My bus has a separate on/off switch next to the driver's seat for the stepwell heater. Did you accidentally switch this on?

Mine has no on/off. It has a hit/cold lever. Neither stops the hot hot heat

there should be a couple water valves someplace.. under the doghouse perhaps that lead to the 1 inch heater lines.. turning those off should completely disable the heating system until you are ready to drive in cold weather again then you can open them back up.. they will look like outside garden spigot handles. or will be red "wing" type handles.
