T444E Redline Question ...

Okay, so I've been trying to find out what a safe 'top' RPM is for the T444E. I've read online that it's 2200, but then I've found technical data that says that the 'power band' is right around 2100-2300.

So, does anyone know what the redline should be so I can stay safely below it?

Re: T444E RPM

My BB has a 7.3 engine also. These are hi speed diesel engines to can be safely operated up to 3600 RPM. The power band seems to be about 2500-3000 RPM.
These engines are very tough with only the valve train as a weakness. There is no difference between pulling a long 6% grade and moving down the road at 70MPH. This type engine must have good cooling to survive. Frank

Re: T444E Redline Question ...

Well, that would be cool. I've not gone over 2500, and the temp never gets above 180-190 degrees. But if I can go higher safely than 65 mph will be no problem even with the gearing I've got ...
