330 Cummins V8 AND 900 V8?

These were great engines in the Versatile D-145 and the 900 Versatile and with the Turbo a 935. Are they in any RV usage? I heard the 900 wasn't very good in trucks. The 330 was designed to burn 3 qts of oil in a 10 her or so day.

The only Cummins V-8 that had a wide application in trucks and buses in the last forty years was the VT-555, which was also known as the triple nickel.

Most people were very disappointed in the service they got out of the engine. In school bus use they rarely went 100K miles without a total disaster.

The only other Cummins V-8 that had any application was the 903. It had a better reputation but it was not a very good alternative to the Big Cam inline sixes of the same HP and torque rating. As a consequence it didn't really see a lot of applications.

As for the tractor engines your referenced, I have never seen one of them in a truck or bus.

Like Cowlitz said, most of the v8 cummins engines weren't worth a **** in vehicle usage. Not sure if they were poorly engineered or what but in agriculture and power generation they weren't too shabby and seen a lot more widespread usage.
