Air throttle - 8.3 Cummins

Someone tell me how this thing is SUPPOSED to work. When I flip it on, it will go to about full throttle. They must have changed the rpm to use it as cruise control....I cant believe someone would do that. Anyways, how do I adjust this back? I want a fast idle of about 1000rpm. I am assuming this is just a fast idle switch, but not sure.

The fast idle on my Thomas brings the idle up to about 1200 RPM. Seems like I adjusted this when I installed the cruise control. I think it has a set screw in the back that you loosen a jam nut, then turn the screw in or out to make the adjustment. Can't remember which way to slow it down. Make sure it is not a linkage issue, sounds almost like someone may have assembled it incorrectly. Hope this helps. Doug@8000'
