Any other 4BT Transplants here?

Howdy All --- my little '46 Chevy has a rebuilt 4BTAA that I am in the process of "hooking up". Fuel, oil, turbo oil, CAC, etc. Mine is the 130 horse, 1839 CPL with the Holset HX30W turbo. Tranny is a new factory built Allison 2200MH six-speed.

Hope to have her spinning by Fall and just had to ask if anyone else has or is going this route.

I think you will have a hard time finding another one in a bus. I think yours is a special application because of the weight of your bus.

I would love to put one in a 4 door jeep and use it for my work truck.

However any I have seen around here they want $4k and up.

I own three 5.9 12 valves and one 8.3 12 valve. Still looking for a 4 banger.

Same here, it seems that every 4bt around here is worth minimum 2$ a pound, and that's for the junk that's sat for years and is rusted solid.
I myself am looking for something that is even more rare, one with common rail injection. Holy $hit the prices on them, if you can even find one that's worth having.

Funny thing is...the older "one-wire" (all mechanical) 4-Bangers sell for about twice what the newer computer controlled engines do (?). Transplanters of all kinds want the "simple" version.

There are still tons of good 4BT's around but they do demand a premium when in good shape. I see links & listings over on "4BTswaps.com" regularly.

None in my geographical region.

When they do pop up, they start at 4K and up.
