Cheapest route.

I'm at a camp ground ($30 a night) town and a mechanic is 10 miles away. I don't know what to do

It might help to further explain your dilemma so we can help. What do you need a mechanic for?

At this point I'm trying to assess possible damage to valves caused by a bent push rod. Can the valves ever hit the piston on a 5.9 cummins 12 valve? And I'm weighing a mechanic verses a tow.

They are interference engines. However, since it has a positive gear drive (as opposed to chain or belt drive)the problem does not occur unless the valve is held open from other causes....

what block # is it? Did you do KDP fix Killer Dowel Pin?

more info
