Engine swap 1997 Bluebird TC2000

We're doing an engine swap starting this Friday. We'll start by pulling the 5.9 Cummins 6BT engine out of the bus. We'll then pull the (same) engine out of the truck, and we'll install the truck engine in the bus. I'll post pictures and updates here as we go. Wish us luck!

Good luck! Does the truck have a manual transmission or heavier automatic? May be worth putting the whole set-up in your bus while your that deep. I'm assuming the bus has the 545. It's not horrible but also not ideal for road trips/pulling.

times 2 on pulling the trans with the motor.

if its the at545, there isn't anything supporting the trans except the motor. there are a 2 cables, and the driveline that are attached and then the motor.

good luck, take lots of pictures, it will be interesting to see the differences in the motor.

I promised the transmission to a rat-rodder in exchange for his help with the engine swap.

Sounds like a worthwhile exchange you tackling the swap this weekend?
