fast idle switch

I have a Thomas bus with 3208 Kitty. The fast idle only works after the air pressure is at least 75psi. Usually the fast isle disconnects when the engine temp is reached. The throttle is held at a fast idle by a solenoid holding an air line. After engine is warmed and air pressure is up, fast idle does nothing, I think the bus/engine makers did not want fast idle used as a cruise control. I made a cruse control with a PTO control cable that has locking feature. The cable is connected directly to engine throttle. While cruising my "cruise" can be quickly be disconnected. Frank in Idaho

Re: fast idle switch diagnostics

I can use it anytime (after air builds up a little) on my Detroit 6V92. Idling is not good for them and also keeps the generator and AC kickin.
