Hey can someone who loves cummins motors please troubleshoot this:

Hi, sunbear here again.
So we have a 1997 b.b. 36 foot pusher with a 12 v mechanical motor . I pulled my oil dipstick and had some water in my oil, my mechanic friend said he thought I might have an oil cooler problem he took out the oil cooler and tested with air under water it was fine. The gasket was disintegrated and he decided that I got water in my oil through washing my motor while it was running .since then.I have no water in my oil but im I'm still shooting out an occasional blob out of the blow tube she has never run better stays cool and loves to go 75 if I let her. Now ive gone 350 miles and it saying.my coolant is low.

I would take a sample of the oil and send it off to be tested.

That is the only way in which to determine what might be leaking or if you just got water in while washing.

I totally agree with Cowlitz...an oil analysis will generally tell the tale...and more.

If you use Balckstone for oil anal. put the provided container in a small box and hand label it. It will take weeks if you send it in the provided container that's pre-labeled. The P.O. is funny about this stuff.

Update.

So I pulled and wiped the dip stick seems like just oil on the stick now, and drained 1 tenth of a quart out of the oil pan and its just oil.

a pressure leakdown test for your cooling system might be in order too..to see if your system is tight... if it leaks down then comes the hard part of findng it but you can cap off heater hoses, etc to see where it would leak... you hope its not head gaskets in the motor.. or that this was just a fluke..
