Lady Liberty runs for the 4th of July

OK on Monday after the 4th but hey.. The reason the mechanical Cummins 5.9 was losing its prime was ? The one overlooked item when the tank was moved was the return fuel check valve that is where the return fuel line connects to the P7100 pump. After a small donation to Larry B's the Cummins Idles like a champ and starts right up!
The new AT 545 shifts smoothly no unusual noises and NO LEAKS!!!
Now the untold $$$ thrown at it it will never pass to my wife heh heh she is now distracted by finally her in part designing it.

Started August 2017 and it runs 23 months later.

Now for the fun part

This morning, also installed a fuel pressure guage on top of the fuel filter and a clear test hose between the filter and the P7100 pump inlet. Starts right up and makes that beautitful diesel rattle rattle rattle Listened to the valves with a stethoscoppe and all sounded well. Must have been all that practice on No. 3 cylinder valves on air cooled VW's back in the day Tomorrow is the test to see if it held its prime. It runs fantastic hits all the gears air pump is on the numbers so was fuel psi 21lbs

Yes , tomorow will tell if it holds it prime, the new fuel pressure guage on the filter outlet shows 21 psi and it idles normally now and drives like a dream all the gears and no leaks, no weird noises, brakes are wow and nobody left on. Started right up everytime for the hour that it was test driven. Joe in HB
