turf makes a great point- Anytime I had a customer that wanted work done that I knew would be a headache or too time consuming, I'd give a high bid to discourage. If they still wanted me, they'd pay the steep rate. Less confrontational than a flat denial of service.

You have to pick and choose your customers sometimes.

Call some bus barns for referrals or even Cummins pickup shop if you are rural for the motor work.

I can relate, I do the same when bidding on lawn cutting jobs.

Which way are you heading from Ringgold (assuming you are traveling, that is)? I'm not too far from Atlanta but off of I-85 (about a 3 hour ride from Ringgold).

I'll look at it free and we can give it a test drive and I can offer my opinion (I drive big trucks for a living and have experience).

A classic case of highway robbery it seems. heck, you could buy 3 more buses for that money. I suppose if any of us walked in not knowing much about our vehicles, we would get the same type of estimate. It pays to get to know your bus inside and out.
