Increase cooling as well . More dinosaurs burned increases heat- more radiator and pyrometer most important. Some chips will do the power increase- lots of research to be done.

cooling system is one area to definitely not over-look, esp in a school bus.. from what it seems many school busses have cooling systems that are at or close to their limits in stock form.. if you asre just taking your engine and turning it up one notch to another veriant offered by the manufacturer of the bus then youll likely be able to cool it without mods..

ie if your cummins was offered as a 170 and a 200 HP variant in that chassis. you can probably go up to the 200. without cooling issues..

as mentioned, power adding in a diesel is burning more fuel.. burning more fuel makes more power and more heat...
