Transmission may just have died

When I was talking to a transmission guy about the 545, he told me it was just a beefed up GM-400 and cost about the same to rebuild. Of course YMMV, depending on who you talk to. As for me, I'd see about upgrading to the MT-643 or MD-3060 or even a stick shift, If it can be done at a reasonable price.

also check the allison site, and other transmission sites, for what is required for change over, transmission dimensions, etc. 545's are good if you treat them nice.
