voltage drop

So I recently put new terminals on the leads that connect to my two 31D batteries. Bus starts up great now (was having troubles getting it cranking due to wire corrosion on the rings) but for about five minutes the volt meter will hover around 13, then I hear a click and drops a bit then click, then back to 13, then click, down, etc etc

I revved the engine while idleing and the meter would go up, no click...

After five minutes it seemed to stop.

My question is, is this a loose connection in the wiring? Or maybe some of the relay switches being freaky?

Anyone ever had a similar issue.

Other than that she runs great after the terminal corrosion issue was fixed.

Normal charging voltage is usually in the 14.5 - 14.8 range. My guess is that you have a relay clicking in and out. I'd find what is making that click and trace wires to whatever it's feeding.

If your bus has glow plugs that could explain the high draw after startup. My glow plug relay powers the plugs for a minute or so after my dash glow plug light goes out and the plugs drag down voltage into the 11.5 to 12v range.
