Houston Trip, or, "Hotel Tango," in the NATO phonetic alphabet

Howdy all y'all! Heading down Houston way come Sunday to meet with the Don of the forum.
I'm buying his Honda genny. Don Skooleone made me an offer I couldn't refuse!
Anyhoo, seeing how he isn't spending much time here lately, I thought I'd start a, "Get Well" card. Something for him to read while I'll be trying not to collapse a disk wrassling a 160 pound generator up onto my VW's shotgun seat.
Let your Happy Thoughts be heard!!!
~Delta Victor
PS: Kindly forego on interacting amongst yourselves here until after delivery. iMuchos gracias!

Don, we all miss seeing you on here every day. Hoping that you're comfortable and that you're with folks you love. I'll remember you every time I see men marching in kilts. Your style and your class define you... May the wind be always at your back my friend.

Tango, your build inspires the hell out of me. Every time I log on to Skoolie, I look for your updates. Stay strong my friend. Even though we have yet to meet in person, I feel like we are family! Much love.

Thinking of you Tango - you have inspired me to do a nicer job on my bus than I had originally planned on doing - something far less basic - when I've done something in the bus that pleases me for more than just being useful, I'll think of you and thank you - hang in their man - keep good thoughts

Tango,

What you're doing by rescuing old iron and making it completely your own is inspiration to all of us. Your skills and experience are top notch, and are something most people can only dream of. I hope you get well soon!

Tango,

It is extremely hard to express enough my gratitude for the wide trail of information, ideas, and inspiration you have laid down here. Not just the bus, not just the sculpture, but your attitude towards life. I am grateful!! My prayers are with you each day. DO NOT EVER GIVE UP! Thank you for all you have done. PEACE!

Tango,

You are building what was my dream, and doing the most fantastic job. Know that you have inspired so many. Life changes and dreams have to change with them. Even if you do not finish the bus you have given so much to others in ideas and dreams that a part of you will live on in many other builds. As always my prayers and blessings for you.

Hello Tango, been a while since I have written you I know. That doesn't mean you are forgotten down there. Your plight makes me think of you often and how vulnerable each and every one of us is. Hoping you are comfortable and often wonder if you have company in this journey.
I sure miss your updates on the bus like days of old and all the brain teasers you offered us throughout your build. You proved there is always a better way if one thinks things through. Not sure if I could do it in the heat like you have. Finally summer here and feeling despondent due to the heat, only getting a couple good hours in everyday before I'm toast.
Hopefully Matt finds you on a good day for you and hope he gives you a big hug brother from me, ok MATT?
Do have a great visit you guys and hope you can pick up some vibes from me as they are ever present when it comes to thinking about you Don.

Love ya bro! Keep up the fight, you are truly an inspiration for all.

Tango,

Your concrete sculptures are amazing and will probably live on for hundreds of years. I loved reading and following your bus build thread. It was like reading a novel with all of the plot twists and turns and all of the obstacles our hero overcomes. Like any great story the pleasure is in the journey and not necessarily the destination. Thank you for your advice and concern for all of the members of the forum. I wish you well on the remainder of your personal journey. Thank you for your service and keep fighting.

THANK YOU. I wish i was going with my wife to Robstown but still trying to get teenagers out of the house. We cant lose both jobs, sell home base without a start there but that was our true purpose for a bus? so momma goes first and then i follow? eventually.
TANGO hang in there man dont let go of your dreams, passions and family yet YOU have many more years ahead of you keep on keepin on and let your artistry and passion drive you through this there will be some tough, weak and slow times but you got this.
dont you have a concrete sculpture that needs to be finished?
from your old NAVY days OOHRAH SQID
I must admit that I'm upset you're having to go thru all of this, but I'm more pi$$ed off at those traitorous cells!
Your vision, coupled with the inspired artistry to bring it to reality is beyond impressive!
You scoffed when I told you you're a rock star, saying you're just another old fart. So's Jagger... So rock on!
You're a rara avis, Brown Shoe. You survived the 'Nam, let's expect Friday's air strike will blow those little phuquers into non-existence!

Keep strong!

Tango,

You and Cowlitz are the 2 classiest people on this forum. You taught me by example how to be part of this community - by tolerating fools well, by answering the same questions over and over, by not holding back on your warped sense of humor. Your build is also perhaps the highest quality work I've seen here.

Thanks for everything. I still hope to meet you in person someday.

What a class act this forum is. Thank you all so much for the many kind words and good wishes. You folks are simply the best.

Still no buyer/builder for the '46. No idea if it will help or not but what if the price was knocked down to just $12K? I am still holding out hope that someone might pick up where I left off. The idea of parting it out really goes against my grain.

Don;

IF I had the resources I'd take it over in a heartbeat! Unfortunately, my wife is looking for another teaching gig, and it's slim pickings up here for now for her.

We're praying for your health and well-being. It looks like I'll be down there on other business later this month, just not in the bus. Here's to seeing you before I return to Kansas!
