Phantom is very rare. There is a little bit of info on the net about them they were built in the 60's in Paramount Ca. The Powell Bros started in the 20's making radio sets in the 50"s theu made one of the first RVs. Long out of buisness . Search for Powell Challenger Phantom.
Way cool
Powell Challenger
Here is a link about it.

They come apart as you might have noticed the big wing nuts for the seat and the front forks. Also the original throttle cable had a push button at the twist grip to disconnect it. Very hard to find. They originally were designed to come apart and fit in the baggage compartment of a light airplane.

Is the engine mount to a hinged plate? It originally had the variable speed pulley/clutch with belt drive back to the jackshaft and then#40 chain final drive. If the tread pattern on your tires look like 4 leaf clovers those are original tires. Another great site is

Yes, I believe it is. I am going to mess around with it later today and will take closer look at the tires.

Also, going to see if pulley/clutch will fit the new engine (after I finish up my propane access panel on Skoolio.)

I also came across this site too:

I have not had a chance to ride a Grom yet.

I have a Harley Super Glide and a Yamaha SR400 for my daily drivers, but still enjoy nice vintage mini bikes and scooters.

Scooters Rule!!!

Here is a 1968 Yamaha50 that has also been languishing in Uncle’s shed.

Only 462 miles. The engine is not seized, but we are not even going to try and get this one running.

Most of the parts and manuals have been accounted for too.

Moped Army-

https://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Rizzato_Califfo_De_Luxe

Quote:
The Rizzato Califfo Deluxe is an Italian moped manufactured by Cesare Rizzato

Despite being a somewhat rare bike, most components are relitively common.

Dellorto SHA 14/12 carburetor Grimeca 90mm hubs and brakes 11mm axles CEV lights CEV round chrome switches CEV handlebar mount speedometer

The most difficult part to source is the unique egg shaped motor and round cylinder head.

Seems like they're good bikes, with some parts being hard to find. Less common stuff like this I usually buy to flip to collectors.
I keep Honda, Tomos, and Puch since they're common and cheap to mod/maintain.

But that lil italian looks cute for sure! If its cheap go for it!

JUMP ON THAT.

Like I said- If it were me, I'd clean it up and flip it, then buy a more modern and more common Tomos or Puch.
But for a hundo you really can't go wrong!

Not a scooter, by the strictest definition, but I have an old CB550 that I've (long) been working on. Planning a bit of a restomod on it. I largely love the stock look of these old CBs, but there are slight tweaks that I want to make and have already made.

Done:
Get it running - PO had bought it from an estate sale non-running.
Carb Rebuild - The carbs were full of varnish and modern fuel had destroyed the floats, so they were too dense to float and the bike would just DUMP gas
Fix electric - Bike had been chopped to be a woods bike, so there were lots of cut wires. Replaced the main harness and the handlebar switches and a few other bits and bobs
Relocate rear signals - I mounted the stems on the tail light bracket to they're up higher and more central to the bike

To Be Done:
Tank - Have the tank stripped, inside and out, and given a rust preventative coating
Paint - Still deciding between changing it up and having it sprayed the factory colors (input welcome)
Pipes - It'll be an $1,100.00 hit, but I want a stock-looking 4-into-4 and the repros don't come cheap
Wheels/Tubes/Tires - Going to polish up my hubs and then relace with new rims and spokes and wrap with some stock-looking rubber
Whatever else comes up in the process

Lacing and truing a wheel are black magic to me! I've tried and given up.

I'll be doing the lacing, but I'll be getting someone who knows what they're doing to true them. I could probably get it together on my own, but it'd take 10x as long as a pro would and I'll feel safer with their handiwork.
