Up here mopeds are expensive, I found one for $100 but mostly it's $500 and up even for the Chinese ones. Any cool ones like that I've been seeing here for $1200 and up

Heck I'm so busy with work or being sick that I missed a MINT one owner 2001 Tomos Targa on CL a few weeks ago. Sold for $299.

For really good moped deals I simply watch CL, Moped Army, and anywhere else people sell stuff. Takes months but when I find a good one I spring into action.
After a few years of this I think I have 6 or 7 Tomos and the Korrado. I let go of all my Honda stuff to make room for the Slovenian stuff!

Bad news yesterday!
We've had a ton of storms and rain and my garage roof and cabinetry collapsed on one side.
Several mopeds were slammed in the process.
My poor lamented top tank Targa project is underneath a huge chunk of cabinets that were filled with moped goodies. Some rare NOS stuff, some performance stuff NIB. Man I've got so many broken things to fix!!

With a name like mine I'm used to this sort of thing lol.
I may have my buddy Adam bring me one of his shipping containers to stick all the mopeds and parts and tools in until I can gut and rebuild my garage.
It was built from what looks like scrap, and it was built in 1950. Time for some improvement I guess.

I look forward to seeing pics from you and Mary out cruising on your scoot as soon as she's back up on her feet and all better!

Oh crap! Sorry to hear it. I promise to get down there eventually and help with something. You've been too useful around here for too long.

Ah, thanks man!

I had a guy I work with who's a contractor come take a look. I'm gonna start the demo and he's gonna help me re-roof it.

My Helix blew up the other day! Well it seized up. After some diagnostics I determined the rod bearings are bad, so I've ordered a new crank assembly and a set of seals... Hopefully by next weekend I'll be back to rolling in style?

The rod bearings in those almost ALWAYS go out due to a bad oil pump! Definitely replace that!

I'm thinking of going with ebikes. I can charge them with my solar panels and they're very light and compact compared to other motorized options. Plus, they can be pedaled like any regular bicycle.
