Texas Skoolies

Has anyone here in the Lone Star State thought about putting together a Texas Skoolie get together ?

Phatman: holy smokes! We are neighbors! Same county!

I'm in Danbury. Where the heck are you and why in the hell aren't we drinking beer right now?

I am a block off of IH10 on Hardy near downtown. Very central. And there is a great neighborhood bar just minutes away.

hey: There is this very disreputable bar at the intersection of Hwy 6 and 35 in the parking lot of Home Depot called "Chilis".

Well... It will *become* disreputable once *we* get there....

I am at Hardy & Nance (which not so coincidentally, is the name of my art studios).

Meetup!

We're going to try and make it to AZ for the Skooliepalooza meet-up, but I'm sure I could talk the wife into going to the Houston area for a meeting there too! We're in Kerrville right now, so not too far... Plus, we always love to meet and chat with fellow skoolies! Especially the kinds that are into art cars! I've been to a few of the art car parades in Houston, and my sister and her husband were part of a group that rollerbladed and helped guide/park/stage one year...

Roger that Phatman. Just a block from the Last Concert. But my favorite neighborhood bar is a place called RE:HAB Bar on the Bayou. Great free, live music, full bar and an awesome backyard. Just off 45 N at Link & Enid.

That is also where I built that 6,500 pound sculpted cement bench.

RE:Hab definitely sounds like a good place to have a couple of drinks to discuss this further. What does it look like there on the weekends? Is during the week a better time? I don't want to let this go too long, but Christmas is going to throw a kink in the timing. I am always going in fourteen different directions this time of year. Everyone give this a little thought over the holidays and then let's see what we can come up with. GreyCoyote, do you work in the Alvin area ?

Phatman: I live and work in Danbury, but i'm completely portable and up for meeting just about anywhere. I seem to find myself in Alvin just about daily for trips to Home Depot, TSC, Stantons, Chilis, etc, so I'm fine with short notice if an opportunity suddenly presents itself. I'll PM you my phone number.

The busy times at RE:HAB are the free music nights...Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Afternoons are fairly quiet even on weekends unless there is something special going on. And anytime after Christmas works for me.
