Re: The Photography Thread (photo-heavy content!)

Thanks for the compliments on the sunrise photo.

You may have seen that photo on my thread. Here is another one that I really like. It is simple yet artistic. It is also on my bus thread. I just love the wood.

A few of the models I've been privileged to work with over the years (in deference to the family-oriented spirit of this site, I won't share the more risqué photos):

Dailyn (I've worked with her many times and each shoot is a joy)

Julie

Ana

Aileen

Paola (one of the very first professional models I worked with)

If Chevy49 wants fangs he shall have them! I did this one for my niece during the "Twilight" craze.

Here are a few of my favorites

Re: The Photography Thread (photo-heavy content!)

Besides using photography to dabble with snakes and bugs, it comes in handy when I draw.

This is from a photo I took. The whole thing is drawn with an .05 mechanical pencil.

This is a photo of another drawing I did, as I have no scanner. It doesn't show the detail a scan can show.
Drawing of John Wayne from a photo I found on Google.

I'll leave with that...

I like seeing these photos from other members!!

Re: The Photography Thread (photo-heavy content!)

Heres a few more pics...these are "rare" in their own way...

do you know what this is?

ugh...no it is not a cat turd in a litter box
.
.
.
it is what we saw last weekend when we went to look at the sea turtle nest on Emerald Isle!!!!
So I did what anyone should do...I called "Sea Turtle 911"

Volunteers were there in 15 mins

Since we called it in (which apparently is rare...most folks don't give a crap)

They let us in their "inner circle" and we were treated like royalty...I followed this guy from nest to sea...like 40 pictures, every step I was a proud daddy

giving it hell...80 more feet to go you can do it!!!!

Light at the end of the tunnel and with head held high...into the surf

Good luck little guy!!!

As far as a professional photo goes, this is not one. However, the content gives it merit. I am a collector of flashlights.

I'd better not let my dad see this; at his age, this kind of flashlight porn might give him a heart attack.

Here is an artistic photo. It is a shadow of a chair being reflected on the floor.

Re: The Photography Thread (photo-heavy content!)

I was, and still am, excited about this photo thread. I had hoped that it would garner more people's input. Nevertheless, I will contribute for a little while longer.

I am not a professional photographer, but I often times capture some cool shots.

Here is just one of many that I snapped of a very old school house.

I just want to grow this thread. Perhaps there are other members who feel the same. Time will tell.

Here is a pic of a little wooden shelf that sits on my table/lamp unit. The top shelf houses a jeweler's 10X power eyeglass and an old mechanical ticket counter. The counter comes in very handy for many things.

The middle shelf has a small urn of my dad's ashes.

The bottom shelf holds a Christmas ornament that my grandma made fifty years ago.

Re: The Photography Thread (photo-heavy content!)

Since Halloween is coming, I decided to hone my photo-manipulation skills and turn some friends into the undead.

Dailyn:

Yendri:

My girlfriend, Ruth (I don't like the way the blood came out on this one—looks a little like a low budget 70s film):

Yours truly (circa 2005):
