Re: The Photography Thread (photo-heavy content!)

I only have my phone to take photos with but so far this one is my favorite of our trip:

Pic of the Gulf of Mexico off of Santa Rosa Island Beach, unfortunately my phone doesn't do the view justice.

Re: The Photography Thread (photo-heavy content!)

I have driven in demolition derby off and on since 1992. I have had my fair share of bumps and bruises but here are a few pics that are my favorites.

This is THE most wicked photo I have seen of any demo ever... on the web or in person. Little set up for the photo so you can appreciate it a little more. The track is a 1/4 mile dirt trach where we run on the infield and front straight away. The infield had a go kart track so it was a nice dish shape. I full tracked someone so this is the result of me going wide open and catching air. Btw... thats a 4k pound car about 8 foot in the air. You would need to be in the stands have a better view but over all its interesting to say the least.

Needless to say I would not suggest people get in to a road rage fight with me.

This was me and my team mate fighting it out in the end (which it usually comes down to) but you can see the physics in motion on this one.

Enjoy

That is Crazy. I have ran demo derbies in the past as well as raced 1/2 mile dirt track and I have never seen anything like that, awesome, thanks for sharing.

Re: The Photography Thread (photo-heavy content!)

Its odd. When I look at some of the hits on video the ones I think should hurt and be bone crushing are not very painful. Some of the simple ones... feel like a sledge hammer. Its a odd and crazy sport. Its so much work to tear stuff up. Once I am done with all the cars in my pasture I will "offically" retire and will focus more on the bus.

Till then... I will continue to help recycle some of the mid 70s full size GM cars.

Thanks for the kind words.

Saw this while taking the dogs for their last walk before bed. Beautiful cold clear night.
