I would be interested is a meet-up of some sort. Spring on the Oly Penn would be great. I will not be finished with my bus, but hope to have it in a usable state by then, this would give me a deadline to shoot for.

My wife and I are in Oregon but would love to be able to attend a PNW meetup of some sort, is there a Facebook page set up for this, or will it only be tracked in this thread? I just want to make sure that we don't miss it =)

Hey Steve,
I know with large groups it can be difficult to organize dates. But if at all possible, I would love to schedule this trip during the second half of May (5/15-5/31) rather than the first half of May. Either way though, this trip is probably a priority for me over my other plans.

I'd be interested too. I'll keep an eye on what we decide - I'm just north of Seattle.

It looks to me like we have a pretty solid Skoolie population in a 300 mile radius of Seattle.
I am looking forward to meeting you all.

While presently I'm still n the hunt for a bus I'd like to swing by and meet up if I can.
I live in Los Angeles, but have a house and some land in north eastern Washington in a place called Kettle Falls.

Don't know how I missed this thread till now but I would like to join also. I am retired so anytime is pretty good for me. If my bus isn't ready to travel I'll be there in my first conversion (extended van). Since I seem to work better under pressure maybe this will get me moving faster on the bus!!

Also I think we should encourage the whole Northwest to attend.

It sounds like a lot of fun.
I live in Winlock a mile from I-5 exit #69. Travel to anywhere east, south, or west is relatively easy. Going north requires traversing through Olympia, JBLM, Tacoma, Seattle, and Everett. Except for dark thirty at night I know of no time period during the day where you won't hit traffic.
Having said that, whatever you plan do take into consideration the difficulty of driving I-5 on a Friday afternoon or Sunday afternoon.

We have been considering Port Townsend.
Everyone throw your $0.02 in and we can settle on the spot that suits the most folks that we can.
If we go with Port Townsend, I will have to drive South through Seattle, Tacoma etc. Or, take two ferry's with a 40' bus. Anyone here taken their bus on the ferry?
As another general area for consideration: Cle Elum area??? East of the Cascades for dryer weather. Equally inconvenient for pretty much everyone...

Fort Worden by Port Townsend is a great place to go!
Fort Worden | Home
If Mt. St. Helens is a destination you have always wanted to see, they have free admission every year in May. They have yet to post which day it is going to be this year but it is usually a Saturday near the anniversary May 18. A great place to stay in the Castle Rock area is the Toutle River RV Resort.

As someone who lived in Cle Elum for 15 years, I do think it would be nice but right now they have 3-4 feet of snow and it is getting deeper by the minute. It usually is late May or early June before it starts warming up and this year it might even be later.
I wouldn't mind Port Townsend area, that campground you mentioned seemed pretty nice for a bunch of buses.

Fort Worden Sounds like a pretty sweet place to meet, but is there room for the 20+ buses I am guessing might show? Count us in, we will be heading that way for the coast in about a month, so we will be in the area!

These plans look like they are developing nicely, thank you PNW Steve for putting this all together.
My wife and I are amid changes of employment and from the looks of it, our schedules are a little more rigid. I spoke with my new employer regarding this trip and I am planning to have 5/27 and 5/28 off. I am not sure if we have cemented a date yet, but if we haven't I hope we can set a date in stone sooner than later. I could also do the week prior 5/20-21 would probably work for us too if we can decide soon. But I still would prefer 5/27 & 5/28 because that gives me an extra weekend to work on the bus .
Location is flexible, I will be heading over from Kent. Hopefully wherever we meet can be within 2 hours away via regular vehicle so I can get there within 3 with the bus. Realistically I'd probably sleep at a rest stop that evening and arrive late Saturday Morning.
Super excited and hopeful, this sounds like a blast!

I'll be traveling from warm and sunny AZ around end of May and would love to meet up. I have about 3-4 weeks to get everything livable. Please keep thread updated and I will try to make it. May 25-27 would be great for me.
