Did embedded hardware/software for 20+ years, then decided to try my hand at law around the turn of the century.
Presently I'm semi-retired at 52. (I blame Burningman...)

Lets see, ranch cowboy, internet security consultant, both of which I have actively retired from...for the most part.
What I havent retired from is the coffee industry where I am a roaster of coffee. "Do you have a website?" Well, I'm glad you asked; For The Love Of Petes
We are also managing a couple remote properties in the wilds of Montana. One of which is for sale, should you need a place to park your bus: For Sale

Opus - That sounds great! Once our Glacier gigs are over (hopefully not for a while as we both love our jobs!)we need to find a way to stay in MT year round, not just in the summer!

I make games. I have been an environment artist, a technical artist, a producer, and an indie developer. I'm told I'm hard to peg - you're as likely to find me sketching out design concepts or sifting through code as you are to see me modeling assets, rigging characters, or painting in Photoshop. I like blurring the line between logic and art.

Law school at 21. And the fiancé is just finishing school up as a neonatal nurse practioner ( sick premie babies). On top of the bus, I own two vending ice machines at beaches for passive income while traveling. As well as purchased our first home, rental income while traveling too.

Well, I wore Uncle Sam clothing for about 12 years, first as an Inertial Navigation System Tech, then as a Personnel Clerk. That part was a joy. Tried to sell rug suckers for a while (failed miserably), then stayed in retail (Sears, etc) until my bones gave up on me. I've been disabled since 2012, so I watch the clouds roll by.

NowhereFast - I've always been curious about those ice/water vending machines. Are they expensive and are they worth the investment?

I love concrete. I used to have a mobile mix concrete truck. CONCRETE IS THE BOMB!

It's great to see this thread brought back to life with the folks who frequent it now.
Right out of high school I enlisted in the Navy and spent 6 years in advanced aviation electronics. Once out of the Navy I became a police officer and flew helicopters for the next 20 years. After I retired from the police force I went to work for Compaq computers and served as a hardware/software engineer, network administrator, and project manager. I'm going to retire in one more year and live full time in my bus and travel the US enjoying life.

Thanks Cal, I have to admit it was the best job I've ever had. But to be totally honest it was hours and hours of sheer boredom interspersed by moments of sheer terror while flying......lol.

Coffee!!! I have really gotten into coffee in the last 5 years.. while I dont roast my own, I buy many different kinds of beans and do a lot of experimentation with pulling espresso shots.. (im most into espresso).. and aero-press, I dont do much drip ..
lucky for me I live in a city which has really become a Coffee-destination..
keep the caffeine flowing!!

sounds pretty exciting to me!! but then I have trouble getting a chopper off the ground... at least it always feel like a tense few seconds until I get it pointed forward and some airspeed... oh then I gotta land.. yeah it gets real exciting .. and im sure the instructor I had when I took a few lessons had more patience than anyone I know as he let me spin around in circles and finally land the thing rather than take over...
fun stuff!!
