1999 Thomas International Ignition doesn't turn engine off

Hey guys, so I seem to have an odd issue, my skoolie doesn't turn off with the ignition switch.. I end up having to pull the actual connector harness off the ignition switch to turn it off. At first I thought I might have the wrong ignition key as I bought it from a guy who said the school had lost the keys so he put one in. It looked like this one: https://www.autozone.com/batteries-s...witch/2048_0_0

I noticed that it had extra teeth on it that was not connected to anything, so I bought a new one that looks like this: https://www.millsupply.com/column-mo...s=1+5309+5310#

Thinking it would fix the issue, but it did not. So I'm not sure where to start, or how to debug and fix this. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
Tim

Some vehicles have a relay that powers the ignition. Ford was well known for this in the 60's and 70's (and I had a van with the same symptom). The relay would stick on the "on" position. A tap with something solid would release it. See if your bus has a similar relay, give it a tap and see if you get similar results.
